Responsibilities:

The Winnipeg office is a well-established and well run team of professionals focused on the buildings practice, water, infrastructure and transportation engineering and environmental services.  Currently we have an opportunity for a Structural Engineer or experienced Engineer-in-Training to work closely with our Architectural clients and multi-disciplinary professionals and technologists in our Buildings consulting and design practice.

This is a great opportunity for a structural design engineer to develop his/her career in a wide variety of architectural and buildings projects including educational, institutional and commercial facilities.  Work with some of the best in their field. The successful candidates will be involved in the design of a variety of interesting and high profile projects and the delivery of services to our clients. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Participation in studies and design solutions
  • Preparation of engineering drawings and supporting documents
  • Multi-disciplinary coordination and client/project design team consultation
Qualifications:

The successful candidates should possess: 

  • Minimum B.Sc. degree in Structural/Civil Engineering with 4+ years of experience in design development, detailed design, design coordination and must be associated with architectural projects such as institutional, commercial projects; consulting engineering experience and working with contractors is essential
  • Experience working with the Canadian Building Codes
  • A sound working knowledge of structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS and SAFE is an asset;  Experience using AutoCAD and Revit are also beneficial
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
  • A responsible individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a “team player” approach to design and problem solving; Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must
  • Ability to maintain and develop good relationships with clients is essential
  • P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration with APEGM, within one year  

Note :  As some site visits and client meetings are required in this position, the incumbent will require a valid driver’s licence.
