Providing landscape architecture services for sites, neighbourhoods, communities, land regions, our Landscape Architects are comprised of collaborative, creative, and visionary professionals who crate high-quality environments that are functional, innovative, appropriate and attractive.

Our Landscape Architects have opportunities to provide holistic approaches to services such as detail support for transportation projects; urban and streetscape design; parks, open space, greenways; sustainable community development; environmental rehabilitation and restoration; and cycling, pedestrian and trail systems. Responsibilities:

We have an immediate requirement for a Senior Landscape Architect in our Ottawa, ON office. In this role you will:

  • Play a key role in strengthening the Landscape Architecture team’s reputation as leader in this market.
  • Lead the pursuit of urban projects for both public and private sector clients. Projects could include commercial mixed-use developments, urban parks, transportation oriented development, sensitive design for streets, and significant high-profile design projects with the federal government.
  • Work in concert with multi-disciplinary team members; mentor and empower staff; collaborate with Landscape Architects in the Toronto, Markham, Kitchener and London offices of Stantec.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal and external client relationships and play a key role in client management and satisfaction.
  • Execute and manage landscape architectural projects commencing with the preparation of professional proposals, and moving through to design completion including the preparation and presentation of material for public meetings/open houses, preparation of construction documents, and construction management and project close-out.
  • Serve as a technical design expert for projects and supervise and manage work through junior/intermediate staff to develop and execute design.
  • Plan and manage tasks to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the profession of Landscape Architecture.
  • Registered Full Member with seal of the OALA.
  • Ideally you have GIS experience and LEED Accreditation.
  • The desire and drive to play a key role in leading the growth of the Landscape Architecture practice.
  • Experience managing staff, client relationships and complex projects.
  • Experience in business development and developing strategic plans for professional practice in landscape architecture.
  • Experience in construction as it pertains to landscape work.
  • Experience working on P3 projects.
  • Sound knowledge of industry practice and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • Experience with both private and public sector clients/projects and an established network of clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills including computer literacy in work processing and other standard office software.
  • Highly skilled in the preparation of proposals, construction documents, project management, and public presentation.
  • Proven business development skills.
  • Ideally, you are able to communicate in both official languages and have a thorough knowledge of the City of Ottawa and its surrounding area.
