Responsibilities:

Our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia office is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist to join our dynamic team!

As the successful candidate your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the development of new project work through client interaction and ongoing site activities;
  • Designing of mechanical piping systems for high pressure process piping and associated plant design for industrial facilities;
  • Developing construction quantities, estimate design costs and utilize estimating software to create project cost reports;
  • Performing field investigations and support job site construction activities;
  • Conducting and coordinate detailed design work;
  • Providing design & project guidance and mentoring to junior staff;
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years related experience perferred.
  • Post-secondary education from a recognized technical college as an Engineering Technologist or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of piping codes and practices
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD 2008 software programs
  • Experience with 3-D CAD tools such as AutoPlant, Cadworx, Inventor, or similar programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong attention to detail.

This is a dynamic, "hands-on" role is for a person who enjoys accepting responsibility in a team-oriented, client-driven environment. Candidates should be self-directed individuals. The individual will be expected to work independently on mechanical piping system designs as an integrated member of an interdisciplinary design team on small to large projects, providing technical expertise to the Project Manager.
