Job Description:  Overview:

Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, water resources management, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, information management, environmental monitoring, in-situ/ex-situ remedial design and implementation, human health and ecological risk assessments, air quality permitting and reporting, pipeline compliance, stormwater permitting and planning, and audit support services . We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team and advance their career.

Responsibilities:

Stantec is seeking a mid-level Environmental Engineer. This individual may be responsible for tasks such as remedial technology evaluations, remedial and tank system design, system effectiveness evaluations and troubleshooting, conducting training programs, client marketing and development, and regulatory compliance interaction. This individual may manage remedial field programs (including direction of subcontractors).

Qualifications:
  • Must possess a Bachelors or Masters degree in environmental, chemical or civil engineering with a focus on environmental
  • At least 5-years experience in the consulting industry
  • Professional Engineer certification is required
  • Familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, NPDES/SPDES, CWA, SDWA, PBS and CBS regulations
  • Must have experience with hazardous waste sites and petroleum bulk storage tanks
  • 40-hour OSHA training is required
  • Experience as a liaison with clients and regulatory agencies
  • Public presentation experience desired
  • Have appropriate computer skills for discipline and develops specialty skills as appropriate
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data and develop appropriate responses
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, outstanding work ethic, and a passion for high quality workmanship
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Participate in seminars/presentations and seeks internal and external training to improve technical and administrative skills
