Overview: Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, water resources management, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, information management, environmental monitoring, in-situ/ex-situ remedial design and implementation, human health and ecological risk assessments, air quality permitting and reporting, pipeline compliance, stormwater permitting and planning, and audit support services . We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team and advance their career. Responsibilities:
The Environmental Field Staff position will conduct biological field assessment work for pipeline project environmental tasks. The Environmental Field Staff employee will work under the direction of the Environmental Field Supervisor to implement ecological field services, contribute information for technical reports and assist in the development of State and Federal permit application materials. The Environmental Field Staff position is expected to perform wetland and waterways delineations and rare species surveys and habitat assessments.
Only individuals with verifiable work experience, as required below, within the South Texas Brush Country, the Gulf Coast Prairie ecological regions of Texas, or similar/adjacent eco-regions need apply; no other applicant resumes will be accepted:
Wetlands and Stream Delineation - Experience in performing delineations, analyzing wetland functions, values, and impacts. Must be able to assist the team in the necessary avoidance and minimization measures to develop pipeline projects that qualify for the USACE Nationwide 12 Non-reporting permit in Texas. BS or BA or equivalent degree in ecology, environmental studies, or related fields and at least two years of experience of delineating wetlands in the required ecological regions of Texas using USACE wetland delineation requirements. Targeted experience in assisting to prepare individual and general wetland permits and experience with Texas specific reporting. Applicable experience in the assisting to prepare permitting compliance reports and experience in conducting pipeline route development walks as a wetland ecologist is necessary.
Ecological Surveys - Experience in regionally specific ecological surveys is crucial. Must have experience in assisting clients in the development of linear routing projects, with a focus on avoidance and minimization of potential environmental project impacts. Experience with a wide variety of wildlife species and biological disciplines is required, but preference given to individuals who have demonstrated relationships with USACE (Southwestern Districts), USFWS (Field Offices: Austin, Corpus Christi, or Houston), and TCEQ. Superb observation and communication skills are highly valued, as are a keen interest in ecosystems, comfort with computers and technology, a willingness to learn new skills while conducting fieldwork, and flexibility in work assignments.
Safety - Must be able to promote and model a safe work environment and work to identify potential workplace hazards prior to directing field surveys teams into the field. Qualifications:EXPERIENCE:
