Job Description: 

Consider joining ISC as Program Assistant and become a member of the US Programs Team, which is building the capacity of communities throughout the US to develop and implement local climate and sustainability solutions, including building energy retrofitting, low-carbon transportation and development, sustainable economic and community development, and climate adaptation and resilience.

ISC has led transformative community-driven projects in 23 countries.

As Program Assistant you would become an integral part of a committed team responsible for the development, implementation, and support of ISC programming in the US. We are searching for a committed, energetic person who wants to be a part of our work. You should care about the details, regularly and consistently meet your deadlines, and be happy and productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide logistical support for US programs, including coordinating travel and lodging arrangements for workshop participants and staff;
  • Provide other types of administrative support (e.g. meeting-scheduling) to US Program staff;
  • Conduct research to support program development, for example help research and write case studies on promising practices in local climate and sustainability solutions;
  • Work with the ISC communication team to keep the new Sustainable Communities Leadership Academy website fresh, and to produce and distribute approximately six e-updates annually;
  • Maintain and regularly update program data

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and effectively maintain systems
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office suite, Internet browsers, databases
  • Ability to perform basic research using the internet and ISC systems, and to accurately summarize information and data
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Prior experience with community-scale climate protection and sustainable development initiatives strongly preferred

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree along with two to five years of relevant work experience.
