Responsibilities:

Our Dartmouth NS Office has an opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer. Responsibilities include design of medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems for industrial plants and facilities. Candidate should have demonstrated experience in the use of engineering software packages such as ETAP and SKM PowerTools. Experience in designs for petro-chemical processing facilities and working knowledge of hazardous area classifications and electrical system protection coordination & arc flash analysis would be a definite asset. Prepare engineering design drawings and providing technical support on a variety of industrial and power utility projects. Drawings could include motor control schematics, electric heat trace design, switchgear AC and DC schematics, logic drawings, protection and control one-lines. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer to obtain diversified experience in electrical design associated with industrial and utility plant facilities.

Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be registered as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration in Nova Scotia.
  • Electrical Engineering Degree with a minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience in electrical protection and control systems.
  • Refinery and/or offshore O&G experience would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and experience in utilizing various software tools for complete electrical design.
  • Possess knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, ANSI/NEC/CSA, and other applicable codes and standards as relates to the protection of electrical systems and apparatus.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with team members and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Preparing engineering design drawings and providing technical support on a variety of industrial projects, your intermediate- to senior-level experience ensures that you demonstrate mature judgment and possess a positive team-oriented attitude.
