Job Description: 

The Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) has been growing steadily and is looking for an experienced, process-minded leader to oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic growth of the organization. This position requires an individual who can help others at IMT deliver measurable, cost-effective results. S/he will need to be flexible and comfortable with multitasking. A strong interest in the environment, energy policy, and/or green buildings; a Bachelor's or Master's degree; and 5+ years' experience in a relevant role are preferred.

Responsibilities

The Chief Financial and Administrative Officer will lead all internal operations, including:

  • Work closely with the Director of Strategy and Operations to create and maintain processes enabling IMT to achieve its strategic plan and goals
  • Coordinate the annual operations plan and budget
  • Coordinate IMT's office needs (including the acquisition of new space, lease agreements, and office maintenance)
  • Upgrade human resources functions including training, benefits, employee relations, performance evaluation and recruiting
  • Oversee IMT's accounting processes including tracking of receipt and expenditure of foundation grants, tax preparation, and annual audit
  • Coordinate implementation of needed technology infrastructure
  • Assist Executive Director, U.S. Director of the Global Buildings Performance Network, and the Director of Strategy and Operations in fundraising, including generation of reports, proposal and program budgets, and proposal preparation
  • Present financial reports to the Board of Directors

Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will be mission-driven and have demonstrated ability in scaling up an organization and overseeing administrative processes that fully support the capacity of a bright, diverse staff.  Additional qualifications include

  • Thorough understanding of and experience with strategic development and planning, budgeting, analysis, and information systems
  • Exceptional capacity for managing and leading people, ability to connect staff on an individual level and to develop and empower staff
  • Strong quantitative financial skills and attention to detail
  • Successful candidate will be results oriented and able to react to changing needs of a growing organization
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in management, administration, or related field
