With Stantec's current client base and the recent development for growth in Oil & Gas projects, we currently have an opportunity for a Manager of Projects in our Calgary SE (59 Ave SE) office. Responsibilities:
The Manager of Projects is required to overlook and be accountable for all duties listed below.
This is a highly active leadership role that is required to provide direction and mentoring to the project engineering team. This position will play a key role in building a project engineering team, and assisting in company development/initiatives, with opportunity for future promotion. This position provides leadership and direction to the engineering and design division within Stantec.
Our Team offers services for all phases of the Project Life Cycle, from pre-project planning through detailed design, construction and commissioning, operations to decommissioning.
The Manager of Projects will be responsible for developing and implementing project management processes and systems to support our expanding work load in the Oil & Gas practice area. As the Manager of Projects you will also be relied upon to understand and evaluate risks. The selected individual will work within the Project Management Group interfacing with engineering, construction, procurement, projects controls (cost & scheduling) and the client in the execution of the project from proposal development thru plant acceptance by the owner. Qualifications:The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience in Oil & Gas sector; experience and knowledge of engineering/design, project controls, and construction activities through start up & commissioning for large projects; and, at minimum, a bachelors degree in Engineering. A professional designation (P. Eng) license is preferred with APEGGA.
The successful candidate for this position needs to be an organized individual who understands Oil & Gas projects and can communicate effectively with project managers and project team members. Experience with complex negotiations which involve risk assessment with equipment suppliers, construction contractors, and / or clients is required. Experience with operating facilities, owner organizations, and/or EPCM firms with background in discipline/project engineering work would be an asset.
