We currently have an opportunity for an Intermediate - Senior Civil Designer in our Calgary SE (59 Ave SE) office.

Responsibilities:

The Designer is required to overlook and be accountable for all drafting duties (outlined below) on assigned project work. The Designer will focus on scope management, schedule management, and discipline-to-discipline interface/coordination.

 

Our Project Team offers services for all phases of the Project Life Cycle, from pre-project planning through detailed design, construction and commissioning, operations, to decommissioning. 

 

 

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Client communication / Team communication
  • Review of project documentation prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy
  • Review of specifications, drawings, designs and tie ins to existing.
  • Proficient in Computer Software CADworx 2009, AutoCAD 2008, Navisworks and various AutoPlant MS applications, Pro Steel, 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
  • Prepare drawings which include: structural steel details, concrete foundation details, piling systems, tank farms, well pads and modifications to existing facilities.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years experience working with operating facilities, owner organizations, fabrication shops, and/or EPCM firms.
  • Technical Education – Drafting Courses, Construction Design, Structural Steel and Concrete from.
  • Prefer Experience in SAGD facilities
  • Experience within pipeline and well site tie-ins
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively: written, spoken, and interpersonal
  • Strong ability to organize and plan: computer literacy, time management, project planning and project deliverables
  • Strong Skills in drafting and design fundamentals
  • Sound understanding of engineering design principles and design codes
  • Ability to multitask, in both capacities of handling multiple jobs/projects, and be able to carry out multiple tasks and scalability within each project
  • Must be a self starter and motivated
  • Must be growth orientated (both personal, and company growth focused)
  • Should be willing to receive and provide direction
  • Should approach things in a positive manner and be a team player
  • Should be willing to travel from time to time (1 to 2 day trips/month)
  • Should be available for full time (40 hrs/wk)
