The Digital & Marketing Director is a full-time position and an integral part of Net Impact’s leadership team. This individual will join an entrepreneurial and ambitious culture at a unique, critical, and exciting inflection point in our history at the launch of a new 10-year plan. We are looking for a strategic and visionary thinker with exceptional digital and communications skills, preferably with some experience in a nonprofit or sustainable business.
Net Impact aims to build our leadership in digital campaigns, storytelling, and engagement. This new senior level position will lead and execute our digital and communications strategy, lead a team to create and spread inspiring content, and direct promotional campaigns that attract hundreds of thousands of new members over time. They will oversee a team of FTEs, a complex new website, CRM, and social media channels. This leadership position will also drive for digital innovation and integration in all areas of Net Impact’s program work.

The Digital & Marketing Director will report to the Executive Director, and collaborate deeply with the Brand Strategy leader and other teams.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work as an integral part of the leadership team to lead and execute Net Impact’s digital strategy
- Lead four key efforts:
- Direct major campaign / membership growth initiatives occurring on multiple campuses with digital and offline strategy and tactics
- Provide leadership and editorial direction to writers and “get hands dirty” when needed in creating outstanding content
- Support major member engagement efforts with digital strategy and tactics
- Manage the new organizational website, email and social media channels, SalesForce.com CRM, and overall performance analytics across all programs
- Build and manage a digital and communications team bringing together a variety of skills, including writing, community engagement, development and design
- Work with the development team on fulfillment of corporate benefits;
- Oversee organizational communications (email, social media, print collateral), coordinating between multiple teams and stakeholder groups and leveraging a mix of traditional and new/social media platforms to distribute content
- Collaborate deeply within and across departments to manage innovation, advise and guide all digital plans, and support various business functions with digital solutions
Desired Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of innovations and strategies in social media and online campaigns, constituent/customer engagement, and technologies that support them, as well as team management. More specifically, we seek a professional who has:
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in increasingly leadership-oriented digital positions (department head, strategist, account manager, or project manager at a digital agency or in a digital department)
- Proven success in developing effective digital marketing strategies
- Editorial leadership experience developing and managing content for multiple digital channels
- Up-to-date experience in social media, campaigns, content development lifecycle, and innovative digital storytelling tools
- Knowledge of how to strategically manage CRM & analytics tools preferred
- Sufficient technical skills to own a complex system of digital tools and manage technical staff and contractors
- Strong executive level communications and presentation sills, interpersonal communications, and writing skills
- An energetic, entrepreneurial nature that combines intellectual curiosity with analytical skills and technological savvy; enthusiasm about experimentation and learning from mistakes
- Capacity to see the big picture, yet pay attention to important details and get hands dirty
- Strong integrity and a commitment to professional excellence
