The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) was founded in 1972 with the purpose of preserving important attributes of the Northern Piedmont region of Virginia. Those key attributes are the open spaces, natural viewsheds, historic features, agricultural activity and the clean air and water that make living, working and visiting the region so special. Protecting these attributes, while recognizing the importance of economic vitality, has always been, and remains our core organizational goal. Areas of Responsibility This staff member is primarily responsible for the procurement and management of foundation and government grants through the following process:
Qualifications This position requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years experience in fundraising/development. An emphasis on grants management, particularly the procurement and stewardship of public grants, is preferred. Demonstrated success in securing grants and experience in writing grant proposals and stewardship reports is preferable. Thorough knowledge of generally accepted development practices and sources of public funding for conservation-related projects. Proficiency in computer systems and MS Office software is required. Knowledge of Razor's Edge software a plus. General knowledge of PEC's mission and work is helpful. Compensation Benefits Contact |
