Our Buildings Engineering group specializes in the design and development processes unique to buildings. Working closely with our clients, our dedicated professionals help to establish and understand the specific needs of a range of building projects. Responsibilities:

We have a new career opportunity in our Kelowna office for a well experienced Electrical Technologist for our Buildings Engineering group. The successful candidate will be involved in the design of a variety of interesting projects and the delivery of services to our clients.

With minimum input from Engineers and from discussions with the client, you will design, specify and produce reports for all low tension and line voltage systems (such as fire alarm, security, power distribution, lighting and controls) for buildings.

Qualifications:
  • A diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of Buildings Engineering experience.
  • Experienced and trained in the use of AutoCAD.
  • Experience and trained in the use of power systems analysis software and lighting design software.
  • Experience in writing proposals and developing business leads.
  • Experience in managing projects for clients.
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues and staff; a “team player” in your approach to your work, in problem solving and sharing workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Very knowledgeable with the Canadian Electrical Code, the Canadian Building Code, the ULC fire codes, IEEE standards and IES practice standards.
