Edmonton is Head Office for Stantec and is home to an energetic, well established group of over 1,300 multidisciplinary professionals. Our Urban Development group in Edmonton consists of 150 people involved in land development planning, landscape architecture, engineering and water resources disciplines. 

Responsibilities:

Due to our expanding project requirements, we have immediate opportunities for an Intermediate Land Development Technologist or Engineer in our Urban Development team serving the Edmonton Area.  As the successful candidate, you need to possess a strong desire to create new high quality communities thorough the participation in a motivated design team setting.  You will report to the Project Manager, and have design responsibilities that include:

  • Preparing conceptual and final grading, servicing and road design
  • Preparing engineering drawings for land development and related water resources projects
  • Formulating earthwork quantity analysis, and management processes
  • Preparing presentation graphics and report figures
  • Coordinating project drawings with project managers, CAD staff and others
  • Ensuring that the projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner
Qualifications:

As the successful candidate:

  • You hold a Diploma in civil engineering technology,
  • Possess a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a design role within a land development consulting engineering environment; are eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist or AScT
  • You are proficient in the use of AutoCAD 2010 and more recent versions, have experience with Civil 3D or Land Development Desktop (LDD) software; experience with storm water and water distribution modeling is an asset
  • Experienced in residential subdivision site development engineering design
  • Knowledgeable in the preparation of grading and servicing plans,
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal and demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
