Responsibilities:

We are actively seeking a Retail Principal /Program Manager in our Commercial Development group. Our team provides turnkey program management, design, and permitting solutions to bring our clients’ brand and critical mass to market. Our professionals help clients to achieve strong branding and market penetration by adapting prototypical facility designs for each unique site, and by creating design solutions that meet the multi-faceted needs of clients, developers, and jurisdictions. The Commercial Development group services all phases of a project including site analysis and planning, preliminary design, securing planning approvals and permits, preparing construction drawings and specifications, and bidding and project management services.  Our structure cultivates career growth and provides opportunities as unique as you are.

 

The position is located in Stantec’s Toronto – Wellington office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in regional business development efforts;
  • Establishes a relationship with new and existing clients to define their needs and monitor performance;
  • Coordinates work done for regional clients including the establish of, and conformance to, budgets, priorities, scheduling and staffing;
  • Serves as primary contact for program clients, communicating progress and status;
  • Conducts periodic client surveys to monitor firm performance and expand client relationships;
  • Works cooperatively with clients, public agencies, developers, consultants and others. Maintains effective communication and cooperation with and among these partners;
  • Manages programs within established budget constraints.
  • Acts as company representative at client and industry functions, conferences and seminars.
  • Maximizes marketing opportunities from existing clients by expanding and growing current accounts and programs as well as seeking new clients;
  • Maintains high satisfaction rating from clients through superior service, quality workmanship, timely production and quick project turnaround and thorough understanding of client requirements;
  • Ensures that clients are made aware of the latest services offered by the company;
  • Participates in other marketing activities benefiting the company;
  • Understands future trends in architectural design/materials and related industries. Develops designs based on these trends;
  • Provides day-to-day guidance, supervision, motivation and development of subordinates;
  • Prepares forecasts of workload for assigned staff.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in architecture or related field or equivalent in work experience;
  • Licensed Architect and member in good standing with the OAA
  • 15+ years’ experience as Program Manager or Senior Architect;
  • Thorough knowledge of architecture and engineering design principles and construction materials;
  • Must have proven ability to grow existing client programs;
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills;
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects and programs;
  • Ability to work independently as well as manage a diverse team of staff and consultants;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and workflows, and meet deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Ability to direct and recommend cost-effective creative design solutions;
  • Ability to manage an integrated design team on complex projects or programs.
