Overview: Our Saskatchewan Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of airports and aviation, bridge, rail, roadway, transit, and general infrastructure related projects. Responsibilities:Working in our Saskatoon or Regina office, you will assume the role of Senior Structural Engineer. Responsibilities include overseeing and checking the work of engineers and technologists for the structural analysis and design of bridges, culverts and heavy civil structures; structure type selection and design recommendation reports; the design of earth-retaining structures and foundations, and general structural engineering. This individual will work directly with the transportation structural group leader and project managers to ensure work is completed correctly, on time and within assigned budgets. This position requires mentoring of junior engineers and technical staff. Performing routine and in-depth bridge or construction inspections for quality assurance purposes will be necessary from time to time. Qualifications:As the ideal candidate you possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university and have 15+ years of applicable bridge and heavy civil structure design experience. You must be a licensed Professional Engineer registered in Canada and have excellent knowledge of applicable design codes. Excellent computer skills including the use of SAP 2000 (or equivalent structural analysis software), and experience in Finite Element Modeling would be considered an asset. Being able to take the lead on a project team is essential. You must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work in a team environment. A high degree of problem solving and decision making skills are essential with a commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is second to none. |
