Job Description: 

The Senior Manager, Corporate Relations position offers an experienced professional the opportunity to play an instrumental role in Net Impact’s continued growth. Reporting to the Director, Corporate and Donor Relations, the Senior Manager will be a key member of the development team, focused on cultivating Net Impact’s corporate relationships.

Net Impact’s corporate funders are typically Fortune 500 companies. Our 50+ corporate funders represent a who’s who of leading corporate practitioners of CSR, sustainability and corporate citizenship. They support Net Impact because of how we help them connect with and recruit from our community of future leaders and they believe in the importance of our mission. Over 85% of our 2010 corporate funders renewed their support for 2011.

Net Impact and its development team have an entrepreneurial spirit and place a premium on both working collaboratively and getting things done. We are in an exciting period of expansion as our community of members, partners and funders grows. As part of a collaborative Development team, the position will play a role in all areas of development strategy and execution, including corporate, foundation, and individual support.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed development targets for corporate support from designated funders and
  • prospects;
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with existing corporate funders by representing Net
  • Impact on prospect/funder calls and meetings;
  • Research, qualify and manage a strong pipeline of new prospects;
  • Maintain, analyze and report on overall corporate development activities to track progress
  • and identify areas for growth and efficiency;
  • Understand funder motivations and contribute strategically to the evolution of our benefit
  • package to maintain high renewal rates and develop incremental revenue opportunities;
  • Work with the development team on fulfillment of corporate benefits;
  • Contribute to shaping the corporate benefits for Work for Good, Net Impact’s new
  • initiative that will dramatically enhance how young people think about and pursue making
  • a difference through their careers;
  • Create effective and compelling development materials, including proposals, letters, and
  • PowerPoint presentations; and
  • Support other development efforts as necessary, including foundation and individual
  • opportunities.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in how business can advance social and environmental sustainability, and
  • commitment to Net Impact’s mission;
  • 5-10 years experience with either nonprofit fundraising or related private sector roles in
  • corporate responsibility, philanthropy, sales, business development or marketing;
  • Experience understanding decision making and budgeting at large organizations and
  • developing relationships based on understanding needs of diverse stakeholders;
  • Exceptional written and oral communications and listening skills;
  • Familiarity with development or sales management software and processes;
  • The ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and creatively;
  • High standards for excellence and exceptional attention to detail; and
  • Flexibility and a sense of humor.
