Edmonton is the Head Office for Stantec and is home to an energetic, well established group of over 1300 multidisciplinary professionals. Our Urban Development group consists of 150 people involved in land development planning, landscape architecture, engineering and water resources disciplines.

Responsibilities:

An immediate opportunity exists for Intermediate Level Project Engineers / Managers in the Urban Land Engineering team serving the Edmonton area. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the engineering and coordination of residential, commercial and institutional development projects varying in status from concept through to construction. You will use your technical and leadership abilities to lead a project team of designers, field staff and others.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing work programs, cost estimates and budgets for projects
  • Guiding projects through to completion, whether it be due diligence/feasibility work, preliminary/conceptual design, detailed design, scheduling, tendering and construction
  • Directing staff and participating directly in the completion of projects
  • Liaising with clients, agencies and others to obtain approvals.
  • Ensuring that the clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Managing the financial aspects of your projects
Qualifications:

As the successful candidate:

  • Registration as a P. Eng or a CET and be eligible for a Limited License in the field of land development in the Province of Alberta
  • Must have a thorough understanding of civil engineering design, obtained through 5+ years of experience in land development engineering; a solid background with residential and/ or commercial subdivisions, site plans, and master servicing plans are considered assets
  • Interest in business development, possess effective leadership and time management skills
  • Must be a self-motivated individual possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and are able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Must be able to work independently, under the guidance of a senior project manager, with demonstrated ability to manage projects and clients
