Overview: Our Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of airports and aviation, bridge, rail, roadway, and transit projects. The ongoing success of our team allows you to set the pace of your career. - Our transportation team in the Saskatoon Saskatchewan office is currently seeking a Junior Structural Technologist to work under the supervision and direction of senior staff to prepare and coordinate project drawings with engineers, project managers, technical staff and multi-discipline teams, primarily in an office environment, with periodic site visits required.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Providing technical support for structures, using design software such as AutoCAD and Autodesk REVIT Structure.
- Organizing and maintaining a design and CAD digital file database for each project
- Assisting in the preparation of reports, studies, and cost estimates.
- Participating in design & preparation of engineering drawings and specifications to Stantec corporate standards.
- Providing periodic field reviews and site visits when required.
- Assisting in compilation of construction and project record information.
- Successfully carrying out assignments on project teams.
- Providing occasional field inspection assistance to lead bridge inspectors.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess the following: - A Civil Engineering/CAD Technology Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution
- 1-5 year experience with bridge-related or civil engineering projects
- Proficient skills in AutoCAD 2011, Revit and MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good relationship building skills with respect to your interactions with team members, clients, suppliers and contractors
- Motivated and thorough with strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain organization, multitask and prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Field services experience is an asset, but not required
- Member or eligibility for registration with SASTT is beneficial.
