Stantec's Environmental Services group is dedicated to helping our clients reduce their environmental liabilities by developing comprehensive remediation programs. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. This is where great ideas and rewarding careers are built. We are seeking a Senior Toxicologist to join and support our US Environmental Services team.  This position can be based out of any Stantec US office.

Responsibilities:

This senior level scientist should have a degree in toxicology or related health/ecological sciences and a background in human health/ecological risk assessment to support our national risk management team. In this role, the selected candidate will serve as an expert in human, environmental, and occupational risk management services, and complete quantitative exposure assessments and toxicology studies supporting Stantec offices across the US. 

 

Project work involves interesting science-based litigation support, site-specific human/ecological health risk assessment, and project management. Successful candidates must have experience in health risk assessment and applied toxicology, or public health investigations and be proficient in technical report writing and public presentations. They should also possess, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in human and /or ecological health risk assessment or applied toxicology. A background in consulting and project management is preferred.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing human and ecological risk assessments
  • Management and interpretation of data
  • Preparation of pre-submission forms
  • Development of exposure models and report preparation
  • Development and maintenance of toxicology databases, modeling tools, and other in-house risk assessment tools and processes
  • Ability to work with and develop internal and external clients
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff
Qualifications:
  • Qualified Person for Risk Assessments
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Masters of Science in Toxicology (or related field)
