Our office in Saskatoon is currently seeking a CAD Technologist to assist in the completion of water, wastewater and stormwater projects primarily by offering process drafting and design expertise.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Working under the supervision and direction of engineering staff to coordinate project drawings with project managers, technical staff and multi-discipline teams, primarily in an office environment, with occasional site visits required.
  • Producing designs and drawings using design software
  • Organizing and maintaining a design and CAD digital file database for each project
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports and cost estimates.
  • Participating in design & preparation of engineering drawings and specifications to Stantec corporate standards.
  • Periodic field services reviews and site visits if required
  • Assisting in compilation of construction and record information
  • Successfully carrying out assignments on project design teams
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A CAD Technology Diploma or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Prior experience is an asset, but is not necessary as process engineering personnel are willing to train and mentor the successful candidate.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) as well as good relationship building skills with respect to your interactions with team members, clients, suppliers and contractors
  • Motivated and thorough with the ability and desire to learn and understand process mechanical, chemical and biological treatment systems given adequate mentoring and resources.
  • Ability to maintain organization, multitask and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Proficient skills in AutoCAD 2011, and MS Office Suite including Word and Excel are required as a minimum; experience and training with AutoCAD Plant and Civil 3D are viewed as an asset.
  • Field services experience is an asset, but not required
  • Member or eligibility for registration with SASTT is beneficial.
