Responsibilities:

Our Red Deer, Alberta office is seeking an experienced Planner to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to complete projects in design planning and policy development while working interactively with our design team, clients, municipalities and the public in a creative design and studio environment on a broad range of projects.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete projects in areas including, but not limited to, urban design, master planning, community consultation and visioning, development studies, various development applications.
  • Assist in all levels of the planning process, project management and client relations.
  • Support the team's growth and contribute to its collective professional experience.
  • Travel, as required, to fulfill project requirements.
  • Prepare and present planning applications.
  • Liaison with review and approval agencies.
  • Attend project and client meetings when required.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A degree in planning or landscape architecture from an accredited university. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five years work experience
  • Experience working in a consulting environment is preferred
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills

Technical skills required:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of:
    • Design Planning
    • Planning principles and legislation,
    • Municipal policies, process and regulations,
  • Experience in public consultations and presentations.
  • Microsoft Office applications
