SUMMARY OF POSITION The Grants & Contracts Accounting Specialist is responsible for the financial tracking and accounting of Cascade Land Conservancy's high volume of grants and contracts. One key aspect of this position is to manage tracking of all grant & contract requirements, deliverables and deadlines, including technical oversight & compliance. The G/C Accounting Specialist will also provide technical & financial assistance to staff preparing for new grants/contracts, as well as assist in or directly reporting on existing agreements, processing amendments, oversee invoicing and audit preparation. CASCADE LAND CONSERVANCY 615 Second Ave Suite 600 Seattle, WA 98104 JOB ANNOUCEMENTSPECIFIC DUTIES The Grants & Contracts Accounting Specialist is responsible for the following: • In conjunction with Grants Manager and Staff Attorney, assist in ensuring compliance with both prescribed government standards and agreement specifics; • Maintain a master grant calendar for the organization - tracking RFP and reporting deadlines; • Track all grants and contracts in accounting software system and produce reports, as needed; • Understand cost principals regarding allowable and allocable expenses; • Manage all Accounts Receivable for CLC to ensure appropriate compliance with standards; • Responsible for maintaining contract and grant tracking and filing systems as well as continued development of system; • General records & financial management, filing and data entry, as needed. • Provide technical & financial assistance to program staff in the creation of project budgets; • Other duties, as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Minimum two years experience working in the area of grants/contracts administration and compliance, preferably with federal grants; 2. Direct experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable and knowledge of general accepted accounting principles; 3. Proficient with Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and accounting software packages. Experience with Financial Edge Software is preferred. 4. Service-oriented with a positive attitude. Courteous, personable and flexible; able to deal effectively and sensitively with a wide range of people. 5. Commitment to working effectively as a contributing member of the team as well as independently. 6. Detail-oriented to ensure compliance with complex reporting & agreement specifics. 7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 8. Ability to organize and manage diverse and multiple activities, manage tight deadlines, set priorities, and remain flexible under pressure.
