We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation and mitigation. We have immediate opportunities for Intermediate Environmental Site Assessment Specialists to join our dynamic Environmental Remediation team in Calgary, AB. Our team members work on a variety of projects, including environmental monitoring, in-situ/ex-situ remedial design and implementation, Phase I, II, and III environmental site assessments and complex Brownfield redevelopment projects. We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team and advance their career. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be involved with the planning, management and execution of contaminated site projects at an intermediate level. Projects will vary and will include environmental site assessments, contaminated site investigation and characterization, as well as remediation planning and implementation.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct all levels of contaminated site investigations including Site Investigations, Remediation, including fieldwork appropriate to level of experience.
  • Manage all phases of projects, from proposal writing to the development of work plans and budgets to report production.
  • Advise and liaise with clients on a broad range of technical issues related to contaminated site investigation.
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.
  • Conduct technical review of junior staff work projects.
  • Contribute to the development of internal protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Chemistry, Geology, Soil Science, Environmental Science, related engineering discipline, although candidate with a technical diploma combined with experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: at least 3 to 5 years of consulting experience.
  • A working knowledge of and ability to interpret Alberta and Canadian environmental regulations, guidelines and standards.
  • Experience in contaminated site investigation, including field methods for characterization of soil and groundwater conditions and/or contamination (borehole drilling, monitoring well design/installation, and multimedia sampling methodologies) and ex situ and in situ remedial techniques.
  • Experience developing and administering project budgets.
  • Candidates must be service-oriented, possess the ability to multi-task, be self-motivated, possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable providing technical direction and mentorship to other team members.
  • Professional Designation: P.Eng. or P.Geo. P.Ag. or eligibility for designation is an asset.
  • Ability to travel, generally within Alberta, if required.

The position requires a combination of field and office work in a demanding consultative environment. The incumbent will be expected to plan and supervise field programs, evaluate the information collected, prepare professional reports and interact with clients.
