Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will: 

  • Be responsible for Coal Fired Plant simulation solutions using MATLAB
  • Development of dynamic simulation solutions for CO2 Capture System using MATLAB
  • Oversee the development of a real time operator training simulator
  • Size Control Valves for a variety of power plant processes
  • Specify suitable process instruments for a variety of power plant applications
  • Develop P&ID's for a variety of power plant systems
  • Develop Loop Diagrams for various instruments and controlled devices
  • Interact with multidisciplinary team members
  • Design control system networks such as Foundation Field Bus and ProfiBus DP
  • Design wireless instrumentation network solutions
  • Attend client meetings

 

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or directly related field with at least two years of work experience preferably in design related to thermal power plants
  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering with specialty in simulation methods
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with people is essential
  • Experience with ABB 800xA DCS and TRAX Simulation Software considered an asset
  • P.Eng. designation or confirmation of eligibility with APEGS
