Job Description: 

What we need: A self-starting Defender of the Office, who can singlehandedly keep a remote staff of 35 nonprofiteers and many more vendors paid, insured, in line, out of trouble, underbudget and overhappy. You'll also be the front line of support for our charming, super-busy executive director.

You'll work in the nerve center of a decentralized national organization, putting out fires well before they get going and greasing the wheels for our work nationwide. You're a master of all things Quickbooks, a champion of logistical detangling, excellent at solving sensitive HR problems and finding smart ways to get more out of less.

Some problems you might face:

We're having an emergency road-side problem with a Zip Car in North Carolina a remote educator calls you for support.
The Executive Director needs you to put together a budget comparison for board meeting and transfer it from QuickBooks to Excel.
Build an expense report that reduces employee hassle, increases efficiency for maintaining QuickBooks, and aligns simply with organizational budget.

Major areas where we need you to dominate:

Make every internal event problem-free and awesome.
Bookkeeping guru: keeping everybody paid, helping department heads align actual and allotted budgets.
Direct all our HR goodies: health, dental, vision, retirement, vacation.
Stay ahead of all the exciting business rules of doing business in ten states.
Implement rapid, intelligent hiring and separation processes.
Spot problems early and fix them fast, ideally without bothering anybody.
Proactively seek and propose solutions, systems, even a better brand of coffee. We want to get better-and we need your help.
General organization of office and leadership team.
Internal communications that elevate professional culture of organization.
Utility infielder for development team - focus on database and email campaigns.
Qualifications:

2+ years of office management experience. We need a pro.
Detail lover. Revel in finding a missing invoice; cheer upon balancing your checkbook.
Expert at managing sensitive HR issues without disruption.
Quickbooks expert. Excel jedi.
Tech-friendliness. We're a heavy Salesforce organization. You don't need to be a Salesforce master now; but you'll need to learn it, and be excited about that.
Proven track of problem-solving.
Impeccable integrity - in You we Trust.
Standard PC/Mac/Microsoft/Google Apps fluency.
Office shrink. Orginizer. Time keeper. Multi-tasker.
