Our Environmental Management practice is dedicated to helping our clients manage their environmental issues.  We support our clients through the strategic planning, environmental assessment, permitting, construction, and operational phases of their projects.  Over the past 5 years, we have worked on most of the highest profile projects in western Canada.  Our staff includes professionals in the fields of wildlife biology, botany, wetland science, fisheries biology, marine biology, water quality, soil science, hydrogeology, hydrology, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, air quality, GIS and regulatory approvals.  With strong growth opportunities in British Columbia, we are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team and advance their career.

 

Our Burnaby office is currently seeking a Senior Terrestrial Ecologist/Biologist.  This position requires a senior professional with a broad base of experience in the field of terrestrial ecology, environmental impact assessment, and planning services.  The successful candidate will play a key role in the growth and development of our existing team of wildlife biologists and vegetation ecologists.

Responsibilities:

 

Included but are not limited to: 

  • Assist with proposal development, including the development of work plans and budgets
  • Lead wildlife and vegetation technical work programs
  • Provide senior review of technical reports
  • Client management and liaison including pursuing of new opportunities within BC marketplace
  • Help plan and deliver training programs for our wildlife and vegetation technical team
  • Provide technical coaching
  • Support the administration of career planning and performance reviews

 

Qualifications:

 

The successful candidate will possess the following: 

  • Registered or ability to be registered with the College of Applied Biology
  • Demonstrated experience in the fields of wildlife biology and vegetation ecology
  • Leadership skills and ability and willingness to coach staff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • A post-graduate degree will be considered an asset
