An opportunity exists in our Winnipeg, Manitoba Transportation office for a highly motivated Bridge Technologist to become part of a dynamic group providing professional services to our clients in the bridge design sector.

Responsibilities:

While reporting to senior project managers you will assist in providing professional services to public and private sector clients. You will have the following responsibilities while gaining valuable experience:

  • Construction inspection.
  • Perform mathematical calculations related to design and construction.
  • Preparing applications for regulatory approvals.
  • Preparing reports.
  • Prepare contract drawings, schedules, details, quantity estimates and sketches from conceptual design, through tender to construction
  • Construction site supervision
  • Bridge inspection and testing
  • Ensure CAD standards and Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures are followed during drawing planning and production
  • Work to and meet project time lines
Qualifications:
  • Civil engineering diploma from an accredited technical school.
  • Certified Engineering Technologist.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software and Microsoft software
  • Microstation software experience, minimum entry level experience an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly motivated individual who works well in a team environment or independently
  • An enthusiastic team player who loves challenges, thrives on hard work, and looks forward to sharing in the rewards of corporate and personal success with a team environment
  • Willingness to continue education in industry related programs
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in an amicable manner
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are required assets
