Stantec's Environmental Remediation group is dedicated to helping our clients reduce their environmental liabilities by developing comprehensive remediation programs. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. Responsibilities:

This position is for a senior level geotechnical engineer. Candidate will be responsible for management and oversight of junior staff for a variety of field and office-related tasks. Candidate should have at least 8-10 years of experience in the geotechnical engineering field, Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferred. Candidate should have strong technical background as well as project management experience and good communication skills. Candidate will support junior staff with guidance for field work, to include:logging of soil borings and test pits, soil boring installations, soil sampling, geotechnical borings, constuction inspections for backfill, concrete and foundation work and the supervision of subcontractors (drilling, surveying, remediation, geophysical, etc.). In addition, will oversee junior staff in their office work, to include: data reduction, data tabulation, preparation of boring logs and geologic cross-sections, preparation of reports of geotechnical investigation, calculations (i.e. bearing capacity and settlement), assessment of site recommendations related to geotechnical engineering and preparing cost benefit analyses of practical economic design for site development as required .

Qualifications:
  • The candidate should have a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in the geotechnical engineering, or civil engineering.
  • M.S. degree in geotechnical engineering preferred.
  • OSHA 40-hour training a plus but not required.
  • Be proficient in commonly used software (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Experience with commercially available software for data analysis a plus (e.g., L Pile, Slope W/ and A Pile).
  • Candidate should have professional engineering (PE) license.
  • The candidate will have a valid US drivers license.
