Job Description: 

The Volunteer and Development Associate participates on the Enterprise and Region 9 leveraging teams and has the responsibility of managing the volunteer program and will also be the primary coordinator of the partnership data tracking software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides general supervision and direction for all volunteer program activities.
Coordinates scheduling and work of volunteers.
Represent VGJ at partnership volunteer events; sets up, participates and coordinates volunteer recruitment receptions.
Provides support to Corporate Partnership Manager and the Region 9 corporate partnership program.
Completes all necessary record keeping, including monthly reports and timesheets.
Manages donor database; generates queries and reports to support planning and coordination of development activities.
COMPETENCIES: To perform the job successfully an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to communicate the mission of VGJ in a compelling manner.
Skilled in coordinating and managing volunteer events and activities.
Ability to supervise, train and develop volunteers and volunteer groups appropriately.
Knowledge of fundamentals of donor support, fundraising and fund use compliance.
Ability to accurately track and analyze partnership data and prepare timely reports.
Ability to work independently and to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to make presentations to groups of varying sizes.
Ability to read, comprehend and synthesize complex information.
Skilled in the use of personal computers and business related software including Power Point, Spreadsheet applications and related data base management software.
Ability to work effectively with other managers, partners, staff, volunteers and the general public.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related area from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of three years of related experience in volunteer management or customer relations including data base management. Prior experience in nonprofit preferred. Military experience given preference.
Licensing/Certification Requirements: M ust have a valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one within two weeks of hire, and a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear, and see. Light lifting may be required.
