Job Description: 

RMI is seeking a Development Officer who will have responsibility for implementing components of RMI's development strategy, including creating and carrying out dynamic fundraising and development activities that may be in assigned geographic regions or related to a specific donor-giving category. The Officer is responsible for maintaining and growing a portfolio of donors, ensures that development goals and objectives are met for certain assigned regions or activities, and is accountable for raising a minimum amount of annual development revenues.
RMI has offices in Boulder and Snowmass, Colorado. This position may be assigned in either location.
Key Responsibilities
Maintains and cultivates relationships with assigned current individual donors and foundations
Networks to create and build new relationships with prospective individual donors in specified regions and/or based upon a donor-giving category
Engages senior leadership and members of the research and collaboration team in helping build relationships with donors and prospects
Conducts personal communications plans when in-person visits are not possible, utilizing various tools
Develops and executes annual plan to achieve budget revenue goals
Collaborates with Development team to ensure success in an integrative fundraising effort and to fill the gift pipeline
Collaborates with Marketing and Communications as necessary
Qualifications
8+ years experience with annual giving programs and direct cultivation and solicitation of individuals and foundations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven track record of fundraising with high net worth individuals and/or foundations
Robust interpersonal and collaborative skills and experience engaging with programmatic staff
Ability and desire to quickly develop content expertise
Strong presentation skills
Ability to travel
Raiser's Edge or similar donor database competency
