Our Environmental Management group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in hydrogeology, hydrology, soil science, wetland science, wildlife biology, marine biology, fisheries biology, botany, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, and Information Management. We help our clients to identify and respond to opportunities and threats within constantly changing regulatory and corporate environments, through active engagement with the public, stakeholder groups, and governmental regulators. Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects that may include water resources management, endangered species assessments, habitat restoration, and wetland characterizations. We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior Hydrologist to lead and provide mentorship to our talented fieldwork team in Burnaby to deliver outstanding service to our clients throughout BC and Western Canada.

Using your extensive project management and technical skills, you will conduct hydrologic, hydraulic and climatological studies in western and northern locations for clients largely associated with the Mining and Resources industries.

Your responsibilities will be broad in scope and involve providing both technical and operational leadership to the project team as well as driving on-going business development efforts and managing/developing client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Water Resources Science
  • Minimum 6 years professional experience in hydrological assessment and advanced modeling and project management. Some business development and client liaison/ management experience is preferred
  • Must be proficient with some or most of the following hydrological modeling software programs: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-DSS and SWMM
  • Excellent team-building and management capabilities, solid oral and written communication skills are desired.
  • Familiarity with local practice and markets would be considered an asset.
  • Professional registration is highly desirable
