Job Description: 

Mass Audubon's Broadmoor Sanctuary seeks a motivated, proactive, organized individual to manage the buildings and grounds of a 800-acre property with 9 miles of trails hosting more than 20,000 visitors annually and an extensive education program. Duties include a variety of maintenance, custodial and security activities including light carpentry, painting, minor plumbing and electrical work, mechanical repairs, cleaning of public spaces and restrooms, trash and recycling collection. Grounds maintenance includes tree work, brush removal, grass and field trimming and cutting, and maintaining walkways and roadways including snow removal. Other duties include, but are not limited to, providing general maintenance of vehicles, developing and maintaining a schedule of work, establishing and supervising tasks to be handled by volunteers. Prepare property management annual plan and budget in coordination with supervisor. Experience using a chainsaw, plowing snow, and mowing fields highly desirable.

Qualifications: High school diploma and at least 5 years of equivalent related experience, proven ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills; basic maintenance skills including knowledge of use and maintenance of power tools, equipment, tractors, mowers and vehicles. A valid Massachusetts driver‘s license; ability to walk/run on grounds; ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds; basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office; First Aid/CPR trained or willing to be trained; willingness to obtain pesticide applicator's license. Workdays may include one or more weekend days. Must be available for snow removal. Experience using a chainsaw, plowing snow, and mowing fields highly desirable. Housing is not available. Requires successful completion of a CORI and SORI check.
