Job Description:  Overview:

Our Environmental Management group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, and Information Management. We help our clients to identify and respond to opportunities and threats within constantly changing regulatory and corporate environments, through active engagement with the public, stakeholder groups, and governmental regulators. Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects that may include endangered species assessments, habitat restoration, wetland characterizations, and water resources management.

Our Air Quality and Noise Management team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects that may include noise impact assessments, noise modelling, noise source characterization, ambient noise monitoring, ambient noise data analysis, noise monitoring program design, and regulatory approvals and reporting. Because we keep abreast of new or anticipated environmental regulations, we are able to provide professional guidance on how these regulations might affect proposed projects or existing operations. Our acoustical specialists deliver services using state-of-the-art software to ensure our clients receive the best solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner. Our office in downtown Calgary has an opportunity for a Noise and Vibration Specialist. If you are client and service focused and have strong business development experience, then we have a dynamic work environment where you can play a pivotal role in our Air and Noise team.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct technical noise assessments, including noise source characterization, and noise modelling and evaluation
  • Grow the noise and vibration service area
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior noise staff
  • QA/QC and senior review of technical project work
  • Prepare proposals, marketing materials, and/or technical papers
  • Consulting with and answering technical questions from scientists, engineers, project managers, and external clients
  • Project management including:
    • Client management and coordination
    • Project budget tracking and cost control
    • Work task delegation
    • Writing and reviewing reports
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics or a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years consulting experience
  • Familiar with a variety of sound and vibration measurement instruments and modelling software (e.g. CADNA/A, SoundPlan, TNM, INM, STAMSON, etc.)
  • Experience with environmental, industrial, and transportation noise and vibration assessment
  • Demonstrated strength in verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated success in business development
  • Experience leading project teams
  • Strong commitment to client service and quality
  • Proven ability to successfully meet deadlines and manage a number of projects at once
