Responsibilities:

Lead electrical engineer on small to large pharmaceutical/high-tech. manufacturing facility design projects.  Responsibilities include; supervising work of electrical designers and drafters, coordination of project assignments and staff workload, and manage personnel matters within electrical department.

 

Typical Project Responsibilities:

  • Establish scope of electrical services and fee
  • Develop basis of design
  • Coordinate with other disciplines on large projects
  • Prepare construction cost estimates
  • Conduct code compliance reviews and energy efficiency audits
  • Perform investigative fieldwork
  • Prepare facilities conditions assessments
  • Perform engineering calculations
  • Prepare construction drawings and specifications
  • Provide construction phase support services: review shop drawing submittals, answer RFI's, support commissioning and validation effort

 

Typical Design Components:

  • Electrical distribution systems and services up to 2,000 Amps and 600 Volts
  • Site lighting & utilities coordination
  • Building systems: power interior lighting, communications, security, fire protection, lightning protection
  • Standby power systems: generators, UPS
  • Process instrumentation and controls: motor controls, VFD's, SCADA, PLC's, and network architecture
  • Spatial coordination with architecture, mechanical and other engineering systems
  • Instrumentation & Controls experience preferred
Qualifications:

•  B.S. in Electrical Engineering

•  5+ years experience

•  Licensed Professional Engineer preferred, ability to get licensed

•  Should be CAD literate, possess good technical writing skills and have a working a knowledge of industrial facilities

•  Pharmaceutical facilities design experience, including clean rooms and hazardous locations (preferred but not essential).

•  Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IECC, IEEE, and IESNA codes and standards
