Overview: Our Environmental Management group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, contaminated sites assessment, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, and Information Management. We help our clients to identify and respond to opportunities and threats within constantly changing regulatory and corporate environments, through active engagement with the public, stakeholder groups, and governmental regulators. Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects that may include biophysical resource surveys, environmental assessments, contaminated assessment and remediation, management planning and monitoring. We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural and applied sciences to join our team and advance their career. Responsibilities: Stantec is seeking to take advantage of the numerous opportunities in Northern Canada and needs an energetic and experienced Team Lead of Environmental Services Group (ESG) to take us there, based in our Yellowknife Office. With an excellent team and infrastructure already in place, we are looking for the right individual to develop and grow the ESG to the next level. Stantec is seeking an energetic and committed individual to lead and grow the group in Yellowknife and be a key participant in the company’s overall delivery of environmental services north of 60. As a leader in the Yellowknife office, the responsibilities for this position will include: business development, project management and execution, managing and mentoring staff, achieving personal and team utilization targets, technical quality, health and safety of team and liaising with peers and representatives from other offices across Canada. The position will include some fieldwork and regular interaction with clients, regulators, peers and the public. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have 6 or more years consulting experience in the environmental management or remediation field, preferably in northern Canada, have an undergraduate or higher degree in a related field and either possess or be eligible for a professional designation (P.Ag., P. Geo., P.Bio., P.Eng). The candidate should possess a solid technical background in either environmental management or remediation and be comfortable promoting Stantec’s capabilities in both areas. |
