Job Description:    Overview:

Responsibilities:

  We provide services in all aspects of commercial and institutional building design including HVAC, LEED and Energy Efficient design.

Exercising creativity and ingenuity, our team develops unique solutions in environment, health and safety; facilities engineering; industrial process engineering; and control system integration. Our professionals deliver, integrated, practical solutions to complex problems. Stantec is dedicated to become a Top 10 global design firm and is committed to add talented and experienced professionals to drive the growth of our business.  In particular we are seeking Commercial Mechanical Engineer and/or Technologist.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Commercial Mechanical Design - including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and control system design with a focus on a superior built environment and energy efficiency. 
  • Building system commissioning and the development of operation and maintenance best practices for new and existing buildings.
  • Complete energy audits to identify potential energy efficiency measures, utility demand and consumption analysis.
  • Client relations and business development.
  • Mentoring less experienced engineering staff.
  • Multidisciplinary team interaction and leadership.


Qualifications:

As a Professional Engineer you will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Post- secondary degree as a Mechanical Engineer from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a consulting environment, with a specialization in mechanical / energy consulting.
  • Registered as a P. Eng. with a Canadian Professional Engineering Association
  • LEED Accredited Professional status with the Canada Green Building Council.
  • Key areas of experience will include HVAC and controls system design, construction cost estimating, contract administration, energy efficiency analysis, and writing technical reports and protocols.
  • Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft ® Excel, Microsoft ® Word, and AutoCAD is required. Experience using VisualDOE, EE4, eQuest or other energy simulation tools is also beneficial.

As a Technician / Technologist you will possess the following skills and qualifications: 

  • Post-secondary graduate as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or Technologist
  • Fully qualified working level technologist with a minimum 5 years experience in a consulting environment, with a specialization in mechanical / energy consulting.
  • LEED Accredited Professional status with the Canada Green Building Council.
  • Key areas of experience will include HVAC and controls system design, construction cost estimating, contract administration, energy efficiency analysis, and writing technical reports and protocols.
