Our Environmental Management Group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Providing a diverse range of services, we draw upon a deep well of scientific knowledge in the areas of air, water, and soil, enabling our clients to identify and respond to opportunities and threats within constantly changing regulatory and corporate environments. Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects, which extend from environmental impact assessments to site decommissioning, remediation, and reclamation. Stantec's extensive team of environmental professionals provide candidates with both the support and opportunity to work in a wide variety of projects for our broad client base.

Responsibilities:

We have an immediate opening in our Edmonton office for a Senior Hydrogeologist. As a project manager and a technical specialist, you will have a proven ability to successfully manage a wide variety of hydrogeology projects, develop and implement work programs, and ensure the timely completion of projects on budget and to the high level of standard expected by our clients. You will lead and mentor junior hydrogeologists while collaborating with other scientific and engineering professionals within the practice, working on projects predominantly in Alberta and Western Canada. As a senior member of the Environmental Management team, you will identify new project opportunities and assist with proposal preparation and technical reports.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum of ten years related experience in the areas of physical hydrogeology, contaminant hydrogeology, groundwater supply development, and groundwater resource management, ideally in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
  • You will have an educational background in environmental engineering or geosciences, which includes a specific focus in the areas of physical and contaminant hydrogeology, and environmental impact assessment.
  • Experience with numerical groundwater flow and transport modeling is considered an asset.
  • Registration, or eligibility for registration with APEGGA is a requirement for this position.
  • A Master's level degree and consulting experience are considered to be an asset.
  • Strong business development, client management, communication, and financial management skills are essential, as are excellent communication, teamwork and mentorship skills.
