Stantec in Winnipeg has an immediate opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Team Lead.  The successful candidate will provide technical expertise to our Mechanical Engineering practice within our Buildings Engineering group.



Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this pivotal role include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Lead the mechanical design process on projects of various size and complexity
  • Participate in the leadership and development of the core mechanical engineering and design team with some Project Management responsibilities
  • Mentor and develop junior engineering team members
  • Prepare and review specifications and reports
  • Foster new business development opportunities
  • Maintain and grow current business and client relationships 
  • Deliver solutions and troubleshooting to support the mechanical team on client and technical issues


Qualifications:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Professional Engineering designation or eligibility with APEGM or equivalent is an asset
  • Minimum of 10 years Mechanical consulting experience in at least two of the following sectors:
    • Recreation,
    • Commercial/Retail,
    • Municipal,
    • University,
    • School,
    • Healthcare.
  • Demonstrated competency in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and other fields in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience leading and mentoring mechanical engineering teams
  • Experience implementing sustainable design/LEED ® projects is an asset.
  • Sound communication skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations
  • Project Management experience would also be considered an asset
  • Experienced Mechanical Technologists with a proven ability to lead mechanical teams will also be given consideration.
