Responsibilities: Our ideal candidate for this full-time contract position at our Confidential Client’s Montreal Facility is a French/English bilingual Junior or Intermediate Planner/Scheduler proficient in Primavera P6 that understands all aspects of project scheduling, schedule analysis, and schedule control reporting with the ability to motivate multi-disciplinary client teams to meet their deliverable deadlines. Working in Montreal as an extension of Stantec’s Program Management Office (PgMO) in Markham, Ontario, you will be a key member of the Eastern Canada Project Management Office (PMO) – one of 5 PMOs being established across Canada to serve our client’s major program.
Relying upon the established Project Execution Plan (PEP), Baseline Schedule and Schedule Control process, your main responsibilities will be: - Work closely with the Stantec Eastern Canada PMO Lead, the client’s Project Manager and the client’s Montreal team to ensure all scheduled deliverables within the facility is adequately detailed, properly resourced and completed as planned.
- Manage all activities associated with Project planning, scheduling, forecasting, monitoring and critical path analysis, in a shared team environment working with multi-projects / multi-programs.
- Manage the weekly schedule update process, ensuring that updated schedules and reported progress accurately reflect the “situation on the ground”.
- Work closely with the PgMO Senior Scheduler to understand and analyze critical path scheduling issues and risks.
- Identify scope changes to the baseline schedule and report the changes to the PMO Lead and the client’s Cost Controller.
- Participate in local, regional and national client and Stantec meetings as required.
- Prepare weekly flash reports and monthly PMO reports, and share ‘lessons learned’.
Qualifications: - Strong French & English bilingualism (written/oral) is a mandatory requirement.
- Proficiency in Primavera Project Planner (P6) versions 6.0 or beyond is a mandatory requirement.
- Proficiency in MS Access and Excel to manipulate and analyze large data sets is a mandatory requirement.
- A Degree in Project/Construction Management or Engineering, or a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. PMP certification is an asset.
- Understanding of Project Management and Project Controls principles, processes, procedures and software required.
- Minimum 5 plus years of Planning & Scheduling experience (major capital programs >$50M).
- Experience with industrial/commercial process equipment and understanding of facility construction and retrofits in an operating environment.
- Ability to work in a Team environment.
