Job Description: 

The Sustainable Energy Fund is seeking an accountant with exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. The position is responsible for financial reporting, monthly reconciliations, payroll management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, loan tracking, and bank and asset management account reconciliation. In addition the position assists with budgeting and preparing quarterly Finance Committee reports.

Essential Job Functions

Payroll management -
Payroll entry to PEO
Banking transfers
401k reports and payments to John Hancock Pensions
Fringe Benefit Liason
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Loan and grant commitment tracking
Monitor all loans, create monthly invoicing for loan payments
Maintain system for monitoring PRI deal deliverables such as investees' financial statements
Job Costing Reports
Reconcile bank and asset manager accounts statements
Journal entries, monthly P&L statements and balance sheet
Contact point for various Board members with regard to stipend requests/payments
Coordinates documentation between the SEF and sub-contractors
Year-end 1099s
Assist with budget
Main contact with auditors on year-end audit
Finance Committee -
Prepare Finance Committee packages quarterly
Attend quarterly Finance Committee meetings and prepare minutes from same


In addition to the essential functions listed above, the employee is expected to exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workers; maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; demonstrate a positive attitude; communicate effectively with co-workers and clients; work with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail; respect the work environment and keep it as neat and clean as possible; and exercise initiative to learn new skills and tasks and to help co-workers when possible. The employee is also expected to perform such other duties and functions as required from time to time.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field; or equivalent work experience in the accounting field.
Proficiency in the following software:
Quick Books
Word
Excel
Minimum three years work experience
Valid driver's license (to attend off-site committee meetings)
