| Job Description: |
Overview: Position provides comprehensive leadership for our transportation planning, traffic engineering services for traffic operations, and transportation planning projects, as part of our Transportation Planning & Traffic Engineering group. This group utilizes a collaborative approach, supported by a network of specialists, sophisticated analysis techniques, and computer simulation models. This is where great people and great ideas truly make a difference.
With the goal of identifying and exploring a wide variety of alternative options and improvements, we have a comprehensive understanding of the many environmental, social, and community issues that can influence the viability of transportation solutions. Conducting traffic impact assessments, optimization traffic operations, evaluating and designing parking facilities, and conducting long-range transportation planning studies are just a few of the areas where we need talented people.
We anticipate that highly qualified candidates may also fill the role of Practice Leader (PCPL) for the Colorado Transportation Profit Center, in addition to the technical role. The PCPL is the recognized technical leader of a Profit Center (PC), accountable for developing, implementing and succeeding in the attainment of the PC's growth and performance objectives. The PCPL reports to the Regional Practice Leader (PL), and is accountable to the PL for performance within an agreed framework of objectives. The PCPL is also accountable to the Profit Center Managing Leader (PCML) for administrative and financial performance objectives.
With strong business development, technical and project delivery skills, the PCPL is regarded as an authority with respect to the delivery and quality of the practice area's services. The PCPL is expected to consult and/or participate in significant proposals and projects undertaken within a PC. The PCPL is responsible for implementation of the growth, technical excellence, and financial objectives of the practice area's business plan. Responsibilities: This opportunity exists for an individual with 20+ years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning, with a well established professional network in the Colorado transportation community. The position will involve extensive business development, supervision of junior and mid-level staff, project management, financial and performance management for immediate group, and coordination with counterparts in other Stantec offices. The individual must have interest and project experience in most of the following areas: traffic impact assessment, advanced traffic modeling, travel demand modeling, traffic engineering, corridor and area-wide planning, and transit system planning.
This position provides support and technical leadership for other Stantec offices and regions, so opportunities for short-term travel and work on major transportation projects across the U.S. and Canada are probable. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong technical, business development and people skills to be a key leader as we develop our U.S. transportation market. Qualifications: Strong skills in computer analysis and technical writing are a must. Minimum qualifications are a B.S. in civil engineering or transportation engineering, current CO PE registration, and 20+ years of progressively responsible experience in traffic engineering and planning. P.T.O.E. certification a plus. |
