Job Description: 

The National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) is a private non-profit corporation that works to promote sustainable technologies and systems, especially for the benefit of economically disadvantaged individuals and communities. NCAT is seeking an experienced accountant to work in its Butte, MT office.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirement is an associate's degree in Accounting or related field. One to three years of accounting experience is preferred. The position requires familiarity with cost and general accounting principles and procedures and extensive experience with accounting software and databases. Experience with JAMIS accounting software would be helpful. The incumbent must have excellent organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills, be able to work independently and in a team environment, have the ability to prioritize work assignments, complete tasks in a timely manner, and maintain information of a confidential nature. Familiarity with non-profit accounting systems is helpful.


2010 Accountant

Responsibilities:
The primary duties for this position include accounts payable processing encompassing check runs; PO, vendor, and payroll systems maintenance; maintaining organizational cost and general accounting systems; assisting in the preparation of reports; and maintaining monthly General Ledger account reconciliation. Other general accounting duties will be assigned when appropriate.

Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time hourly position with a starting salary range of $27,000 to $30,000 depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include paid vacation and holidays, a health insurance plan, a cafeteria plan, a 401(k) plan and a pleasant office environment in which to work.
