Job Description: 

The responsibility of this position is to provide program management and leadership on MidAmerican Small Commercial Energy Audit (BusinessCheck), Multifamily, and Agriculture Programs. This position will provide "hands on" management working along with energy professionals working for our clients in achieving specific energy efficiency goals. In addition this individual will manage Energy Advisors and Project Coordinators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Manage the client relationship and serve as an advocate for our client.
• Provide day to day leadership to program staff including managing incentive processing, marketing programs, and assisting a team to creatively meet the goals of the program.
• Monitor and manage program budgets to ensure full utilization of funds while meeting or exceeding energy savings goals.
• Be a member of several working groups that will coordinate programs with other organizations working in the program.
• Develop and oversee the processing of energy efficiency project paperwork through the customers energy efficiency tracking system.
• Prepare the monthly invoice and monthly activity reports to the respective utility by the due date each month. Weekly program status reports may also be required.
• Incorporate "Best Practice" methods of energy efficiency program implementation.
• Practice effective project management skills in leading this program.
• Ensure continuous process improvement of operations year after year.
• Provide a professional appearance appropriate to represent both Franklin Energy and MidAmerican Energy Holding Company.
• Lead presentations promoting energy efficiency programs for targeted groups of customers or trade allies.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Manage direct reports and oversee program staff of potentially one to four full-time equivalents (FTE).
• This includes interviewing, planning, assigning, completing performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring and directing work.
• Mentor program personnel in achieving their personal goals annually as well as their long-term development goals.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, engineering, or other discipline.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• At least five years management/supervisory experience including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and mentoring.
• Proficiency in financial management.
• Three years plus experience in managing energy efficiency programs preferred.
• Experience in lighting, HVAC, and other technologies; including energy weatherization and air sealing service for multifamily programs.
• Program experience in the areas of Small Commercial Energy Audits, Multifamily or Agriculture Programs.
• Technical experience in developing and/or reviewing energy savings calculations to determine project paybacks and incentive levels for customers.
• Candidate must show proven leadership in fast paced environment.
• Candidate needs to be detail oriented and have an ability to prioritize workload and delegate appropriate work assignments to staff.
• Must be flexible to handle a wide variety of tasks and complete work in a timely fashion in a fast pace environment.

Computer Skills:
• Strong MS Excel software skills required. Proficiency in MS Word and Access experience or other database system preferred.
• Knowledge of Windows XP and Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook preferred.
• Experience with extracting information from a tracking system in order to manage a project/program is desired.
• Experience in entering information in tracking systems/databases with personal computers.

Language Skills:
• Requires effective oral and written communication skills in order to interact with customers, trade allies, clients and employees at all levels within the company.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, wiring diagrams, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports, prepare time sheets and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
