Job Description: 

The Student Conservation Association (SCA), a national force of conservation volunteers, seeks a Program Coordinator for our Community Programs Department. The position is based at our Regional Office in Pittsburgh, PA.

Primary Responsibilities:

Plan and implement job readiness training programs with middle school and high school aged youth including weekly workshops, monthly service events and field trips
Hire, train and supervise crew leaders and educators to implement SCA program and curriculum
Complete weekly, monthly and quarterly program reports to ensure and document participant learning meets program and curriculum standards are being met
Serve as staff lead for community workforce development programming
Qualifications:

Bachelors' Degree required; major Environmental Education or related field preferred
2+ years of experience in workforce development, youth development or environmental education program planning and implementation
2+ years of experience leading young people in outdoor or classroom settings. Experience working with urban high school youth desired
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Access to cell phone to be used for business purposes required
Knowledge of conservation work skills and experience working on a variety of projects
Proven organizational skills
Current First Aid and CPR required (may be obtained after hire)
Criminal background check required; must meet SCA standards
Valid Driver's License and ability to pass SCA's MVR required standards
Must have FBI clearance and Pennsylvania Act 151 clearance for working with youth (or must obtain prior to first day of employment) per Pennsylvania state regulations
Supervisory experience a plus
