Job Description: 

RMI is seeking an experienced marketer to lead the expansion of RMI's web presence. The Internet Marketing Manager will own the maintenance and development of RMI's various web properties, manage the content for all aspects of our online presence, implement SEO best practices, and lead our social media planning and execution. This person will join the Marketing and Communications team, whose overarching responsibilities include the management of the RMI brand and ensuring that RMI's message is clearly and effectively delivered to its target audiences, which include industry decision-makers as well as its donor supporters.

The Internet Marketing Manager must have several years of experience successfully developing and executing Internet marketing plans. This individual will work across all parts of RMI including Research & Collaboration, Development, and others, and coordinate our work with outside partners and vendors. Candidates must have basic HTML skills, experience using a web CMS, and a strong understanding of web best practices, user interface design, SEO best practices, and social media. Additionally, s/he also must have extensive experience working across functional boundaries, a high aptitude for understanding technical subject matter (e.g., the sectors RMI works in to drive change), and strong communication skills, collaboration, initiative and follow-through, leadership and creativity.

This hire will join a team consisting of ten members who are located in two Colorado locations. This position is based in Boulder and occasional travel to Snowmass is expected.
Key Responsibilities

* Lead development and maintenance of RMI's online presence
* Maintain a consistent brand identity throughout all web properties and ensure sites are intuitive and compelling
* Manage web projects across departments
* Proof all web content, maintaining exceptional quality
* Manage existing content partners, and develop new ones
* Manage internal and/or external personnel in the creation of web architecture
* Keep current with web best practices and technologies
* Implement SEO best practices, define success and monitor progress
* Generate and execute social media strategy, including blogging activity on RMI and external content sites
* Create and manage web content using CMS
* Engage with Sector Marketing Managers and R&C (Research and Collaboration) staff to define and implement effective web strategies and tactics
* Leverage in-house or external resources to develop multimedia content
* Establish goals, monitor and report on key site metrics

Qualifications

Required:

* Minimum of 5 years Internet marketing experience, including web, SEO, and social media
* Bachelor degree required (strong preference for technical degree in engineering or science)
* Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)
* Cross-functional marketing and project management experience
* Smart and flexible, willing to take on new responsibilities
* Basic knowledge of HTML and significant experience with content management systems
* Strong intellectual curiosity toward RMI's core work (e.g., the desire to learn about the energy issues affecting various sectors - electricity, industry, transportation, or buildings - is essential, though current expertise is not)
* Strong project planning and delivery against deadlines
* Highly motivated, self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively

Preferred:

* Experience in both non-profit and for-profit organizations
* Technical degree (see above)
* Other marketing and communications experiences beyond web / Internet a plus. Examples include brand development, market/product management, or technical writing or editing.

Compensation is dependent on experience. This is a salaried position. RMI also offers an attractive benefits package including PTO, 403(b) plan, health, dental, vision, bus pass-and lunch! Relocation compensation is not available.
