Stantec's Environmental Remediation group is dedicated to helping our clients reduce their environmental liabilities by developing comprehensive remediation programs. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. Responsibilities:

Stantec is seeking a junior/staff geologist to conduct multi-media sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil gas, indoor air, etc.); oversee advancement of soil and rock borings, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, data reduction analysis, management of subcontractors, reporting, and minor soil excavation projects.  Travel will be required. 



Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of consulting industry experience.
  • Familiarity with CERCLA and RCRA a plus; 40 HR OSHA training; strong commitment to health and safety; strong technical writing; organizational and communications skills; excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel; and, AutoCAD experience a plus.
  • Must pass drug test, background check, physical, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving policy.
  • Understands project/office organizations and their job title/role within the project/office.
  • Has appropriate computer skills for discipline and develops specialty skills as appropriate.
  • Performs and documents field activities (including direction of subcontractors) with oversight.
  • Demonstrates technical knowledge in application for their discipline.
  • Participates in brown bag seminars/presentations and seeks out internal and external training to improve technical and administrative skills.
  • Learns and follows standard operating procedures for work assigned.
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze basic field and technical data.
  • Develops research skills.
