Job Description: 

Alaska Conservation Alliance (Alliance) and Alaska Conservation Voters (Voters) seek a committed, innovative and motivated individual to serve as a Membership Director. The Alliance is the statewide umbrella group for approximately 40 member organizations and is the vehicle for the conservation community to speak with one strong voice advancing conservation in Alaska. Voters is a non-partisan, Alaska-based organization that supports pro-conservation candidates and advocates for conservation policy. Both the Alaska Conservation Alliance and Alaska Conservation Voters believe that a healthy environment and a strong economy go hand in hand. This position presents qualified applicants an opportunity to work with one of the leading environmental organizations in Alaska in a supportive, teamwork-focused, results oriented work environment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Membership Director:

· Soliciting member and other donations by phone

· Assist in coordinating events such as fundraising events, annual meetings and board meetings

· Soliciting and directing volunteers

· Assist with design & distribution of solicitations for fundraising & other activities

· Maintain up-to-date online volunteer, member and contributor files

· Assist in directing and organizing canvass projects in Anchorage and elsewhere

· Assist with providing member group support and efforts to seek new and renewing member

· Office support, clerical and administrative duties, as directed

· Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

The ideal applicant will possess:

* Diversified fundraising experience with a focus on phone solicitation
* Event planning and coordination skills
* Experience working with and managing volunteers
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work, communicate and cooperate as a team
* Strong computer skills
* A commitment to Alaska and conservation; background on conservation issues a plus
* High level of energy, enthusiasm, initiative and entrepreneurship
* Good sense of humor a must!

 

 

 

Compensation:

Compensation is commensurate with experience. This is a half-time, exempt position with a strong option to grow; residency in or around Anchorage is preferred. Primary responsibilities will fluctuate depending on the time of year. To accommodate peak work times, the Alliance and Voters offer flexible scheduling.
