Overview: Stantec's environmental remediation solutions help our clients address environmental liability. Stantec's team of scientists, engineers, and geologists helps our clients reduce their environmental liabilities by developing and implementing comprehensive remediation programs. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions for site management, remediation, and mitigation.
We are currently looking for a part-time Environmental Technician in our San Diego office. Responsibilities: The majority of the Environmental Field Technician’s work will be field based at various sites around San Diego County with some sites in the desert and San Bernardino Mts.
The specific duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Groundwater well purging and sample collection
- Recording accurate field measurements using specialized equipment
- Documenting all field activities, creating and following Health and Safety documents, and adhering to QA/QC policy
- Daily travel to and from job sites with occasional overnight stays in locations outside San Diego County.
- Approximately 20 hours per week. Qualifications: Applicants must have some mechanical inclination and be physically fit to perform the manual tasks. Environmental remediation experience is a plus. Basic experience with pumps and basic computer skills needed. OSHA 40-hour training is needed, must complete other client specific and/or company training, ability to perform routine duties with a great deal of autonomy is required, technical degree or other technical training certificate preferred, and a valid driver's license is required
