Stantec's environmental remediation solutions help our clients address environmental liability.

Stantec's team of scientists, engineers, and geologists helps our clients reduce their environmental liabilities by developing and implementing comprehensive remediation programs. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions for site management, remediation, and mitigation.

We understand that every remediation program is unique, and that off-the-shelf solutions are rarely the answer. Our diverse technical experience allows our multidisciplinary team to address remediation challenges in the ever-evolving regulatory landscape.

Our charter is to support our clients' sustainable business strategies by providing well-defined, quality technical services. Our team of professionals is experienced in environmental health and safety assessments and monitoring; hydrogeological and soil investigations; comprehensive in-situ/ex-situ remedial design and implementation; human health and ecological risk assessments; air quality permitting and reporting; pipeline compliance; stormwater permitting and planning; corrective maintenance, monitoring, closure, and decommissioning activities; and audit support services.

Stantec understands the issues inherent to a particular sector, and we provide remediation solutions to our clients in many markets, including energy, oil and gas, chemicals, manufacturing, transportation, mining, and pulp and paper. Our primary objectives are reducing long term liabilities and removing potential risk to people and the environment, while ensuring technical and cost efficiencies for our clients.



Responsibilities:

 

The majority of the Environmental Field Technician’s work will be field based at various sites around Utah with the majority of sites being located in and around the Salt Lake City Metro area.

 

The specific duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Groundwater and soil vapor sample collection
  • Recording accurate field measurements using specialized equipment
  • Performing “operations and maintenance” activities on soil and groundwater remediation systems
  • Daily travel to and from job sites with occasional overnight stays in locations outside the Salt Lake City Metro area.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Qualifications:

 

  • A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science is required to apply for this position.
  • Must have Utah Soil and Groundwater ceritification
  • 40-hour HAZWOPPER certification required
